We are riding around 10,000 miles to Timbuktu and back in 5 weeks. With no support vehicle and we are doing it to raise awareness of two charities. Please support us to help others

2 Men - Who are we? Angus and Paul, who have known each other for some time, and we are really lucky to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas in this country. An area called Glen Affric. We share the same passion for motorcycling, adventuring and doing something worthwhile while we still can.

2 Bikes - We both ride BMW motorcycles. Angus has a BMW F800GS and Paul a BMW R1200GS. One of the benefits of living where we do is we can experience some of the very best motorcycling roads in the UK, every day, or whenever we want. Having ridden all our lives how great is that! 2 Charities - At the end of the summer we were talking about getting together to make a motorcycling trip in to Africa and beyond to Timbuktu and because of our life experiences we decided to do this for two fantastic charities. The Highland Hospice and Riders for Health. Why have we chosen them? Because we believe they really do change people's lives.

2 Africa - Our adventure will start 25th March 2010 and take in 9 countries and 10,000 miles. We will travel the whole trip and through the desert with no support vehicle, which means we have to carry everything! Like others who have done this before we will be strapping on extra jerry cans of fuel and water, tents, stoves, food and medical equipment. Also tools and spares so that we can carry out repairs and mend punctures on the way. To many this is a life changing journey; likewise we want our chosen charities to benefit so please if you can help in any way or donate please do so. Everything counts. Everything makes a difference.

Security Update 20 Jan 2010 - Following growing security concerns expressed by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in relation to travel to Mauritania and Mali, we are making a change to our itinerary. We will now travel to Rabat (Morocco) and take advice from consular officials from Mauritania and Mali as to what the best advice is to continue our journey to Timbuktu.
